9/20/2018 20:39 (UTC); arrived in New Caledonia (Noumea) yesterday under clear skies 70 degrees and beautiful! No fruit nor veggies allowed into country, so today we shop. Also had to hack up the tomato and basil plants...a bit sad, that. We are in Port Moselle Marina for a week...and time to dust off the French lessons...

Cost (per person): 1 hr pickup ride to entry point (2500 V); volcano & cultural display (9750 V); total 13,250 V = $132.50 US (approx.); cloud cover was 75%, no problem and beautiful sunset; steady breeze kept ash & sulfuric acid away...worth every penny! (bring WARM clothes)
