Nice sail yesterday. Wind died about midnight and we motored south. WInd just came up at 0630 and now sailing again. 65 nm to Bay of Islands!

Motorsailed yesterday most the day yesterday and then about 1930 was able to sail nicely until 0330 this morning. Now motoring again in light winds. We are continuing to take a tack out to a waypoint about 150nm NE of Cape Brett and hope to sail in when the wind fills in from the SE later today.

Had a beautiful sail yesterday in light winds. Put some easting in as we'll need that and more later. Started motoring at 4am as wind faded away. 357 nm to Bay of Islands.

wind slowly faded during the night. Now ghosting along in light winds while the off-watch sleeps. Will probably have to start motoring soon. In the meantime trying to get some easting in to help with the last half of the passage

wind dropped overnight - finally! Nice to sail in something less than 20kn.

wind is still 5-8 kn stronger than the gribs and we continue to accept getting pushed west of the rhumb line to get a decent ride and keep the speed up going south. Hopefully we will eventually find lighter air and can then sail more direct to Whangarei

Blew hard all night 28-33 kn and most the morning 20-25. Squalls earlier and now we are in a large area of showers

At Denarau marina and will be looking for a weather window to NZ beginning in a week or so.

At 7:45am local time on Saturday 26 May we transited Navula Pass and entered the quiet waters of Viti Levu, Fiji. Our passage from New Zealand to Fiji is complete and we are thankful for a safe and enjoyable passage.

wind came up about 0800 and we are sailing smartly with AWA around 45. Winds slowly pushing us a bit east of the rhumb line, but the ride is pretty nice like this. Know we are heading for an area of no wind, but enjoying the ride for now!

Sailed NNE under spinnaker in light winds most the day. Caught a big mahi in the afternoon and by the time we had processed the catch and motored through some rain showers, the wind from the SE filled in and we roared off directly towards Fiji.

Sailed since midnight on stbd tack in light S winds. Waiting for the wind shift to SE. Going east as much as north, but allowed us to shut down the engines and give the off-watch a quiet night with a comfortable ride.

Had a perfect day yesterday sailing under spinnaker in clear skies. Wind faded after sunset and we motored until midnight. WInd is backing towards SE as forecast, so we are now slowly sailing on stbd tack on a broad reach. More east than north at times, but we hope for the forecast wind shift that will carry us to Fiji.

Kudos to the weather models, they called this one on the money! Winds clocked SW and skies cleared just as forecast. A transition day for us - sailing in light SE to motoring to now sailing on a broad reach in SSW winds. All is well!

Motored yesterday until noon and then have been sailing since in light winds - sometimes slowly in TWS 6-8 and often nicely in TWS 8-10. Had a nice run yesterday afternoon under spinnaker and caught a nice mahi for dinner. All is well.

motoring and have been so for most of the past day and a half as we try to get north of this ridge. Pretty comfortable ride except for the drone of the engine. Happy to be up to 29S and will take it easy and sail slowly as we can while we wait for the favorable winds to build in over the next couple of days. We enjoy hearing from you! Ghosting along in light winds which are fading as expected. Had a lovely sail today. We'll let the sleeping off-watch enjoy the gentle rocking and quite as long as we can and then will fire up one engine and motor through the high pressure ridge.

sailing again in light winds. Alternating between motoring and sailing as wind allows. Andiamo ghosts along pretty well in light winds, so a leisurely sail in calm seas is not a bad thing.
