Fluenta
Anchored with other kid boats for Christmas.
Anchored in Urupukapuka Bay after a nice sail to see and go through "hole in the rock" (through the hole with the rhib not Fluenta).
Off for a little cruise in the Bay of Islands with my sister's family

Arrived Q Dock in Opua at 1800. On the dock until Customs clears us tomorrow. Other than the last two days beating to windward with a small fire and no autopilot (thanks B&G), it was a nice passage. Much thanks to David and Patricia from Gulf Harbour Radio for the awesome support to the cruiser community.

Last while spent beating to windward and motorsailing. NZ slowly getting closer. Wind has dropped so motorsailing straight towards Opua now to get in before the unpleasant weather scheduled for later in the week.

Interesting day. Through the front on schedule. Lots of rain and spray. Not too bad bad but wind on the nose and 2 kts current against us from there. Making better progress now. Interesting boat maintenance day as well. Good to have backups.

The wind has backed and the sea has settled a bit so a much more pleasant day at sea. Time to catch up on chores before we catch up the front tomorrow night (I think).

Rather a change in conditions so not so comfortable now in confused and short period seas. Had to motor for a two hours in winds under 5 kts TWS. Lots of squalls last night. Slowed down now to make it more comfortable for the crew and boat.

Have been making good progress with comfortable sailing but since passing a squall line at approx 22 55S very light winds.

Great start to the passage. Out of Denerau anchorage at 0715 and flushed out Navula Pass on the ebb. Bouncing along on a close reach west of the rhumb line.

Arrived Denerau after a nice fast passage. Added two mahi mahi the fish count after yesterday's catch.
On passage from Taveuni towards Denerau. Nice quick crossing of the Koro Sea yesterday close hauled or tight close reach and now broad reaching across the the south side of Viti Levu. Fishing report: one 43 lb yellowfin tuna and one 35 lb wahoo.
Anchored off Taveuni. Parents dropped off via RHIB.
Moored outside Paradise Resort after a calm motor to Taveuni.
Into Savusavu for a few days to sort some logistics.
Anchored of Namena Island in the big marine reserve. Very calm conditions which seems odd after so much wind. More birds than we have seen anywhere in Fiji.
After a bumpy wind against tide but short passage now anchored off Coconut Point for the night.
Anchored in the large bay at Bua. Nice to be in a calm, non rolly, anchorage ! Two walu caught enroute. Sharks ate half of one. Blog updated: SV-Fluenta.blogspot.ca
Moved over to the east side of Yadua to be able to deliver some of the walu and tuna that we spearfished. Very pretty but missing our totally protected anchorage on the west side of Yadua - but it is a 3 hour hike to the village from the western anchorage.
Anchored to the west of Yadua. Caught yellow fin and a skipjack enroute.
Anchored off the site where the Blue Lagoon movie was shot.
Anchored just north of the manta ray pass. Very worthwhile to visit but the anchorage was getting too busy for us considering the gusty weather.
Anchored in the northern bay of Waya after a nice daysail from Navandra.
Anchored off Navadra with a herd of kid boats.
After a quick stop to take a look at Vuda Marina we are now at Saweni Bay for the night.
We stopped overnight by the beautiful Namotu Island but left at first light as the anchorage became untenable overnight.
We have been anchored in the bay outside Port Denarau for a few days sorting out some logistics.
Now anchored off Musket Cove. Definitely not in the Lau Group anymore !
After a fast passage today with winds in the 20's and 30's we are anchored off Likuri Island.
Anchored off Yanuca Island (near Beqa) for a few days with a few of the other kid boats. Nice passage here from Gau Island - beam reach all the way struggling to slow down to arrive in daylight.
Anchored by the south pass in Gau for some diving and snorkelling. Walu caught on the transit from the north of the lagoon.
Anchored in the rain in Gau after a nice fast overnight passage from Suva.
In Suva for a few days.
Anchored at Matuku. Blog updated: SV-Fluenta.blogspot.ca
Still at Fulaga moved anchorages for better protection from the wind and waves. Wind was 25 to 30 kts at the sandspit.
Along with the rest of the kid boat fleet, yesterday we tiptoed with Fluenta into a new anchorage by a big sandspit. Better protected from the increasing winds and better skimboarding and camping.
Blog updated (SV-Fluenta.blogspot.ca) to cover passage preps, the passage to Fulaga and our first sevusevu.

Lumpy conditions. 15 kts on the nose now, but was nice enough in the afternoon to give Benjamin a bath in the cockpit. Extraordinarily clear blue skies. Overnight, we have shortened sail and hunkered down in headwinds.

Great day on passage - good winds and a fish in the freezer (tuna of some kind; likely albacore). Victoria and Johnathan are officially standing 30 min watches. Benjamin is getting his sea legs back.
Left Marsden Cove just before 1400. Lovely sail with a following sea so far. Toques to be worn for night watches.
Fair winds guys. Looks like a
Departing Marsden Cove in a few minutes with intentions of proceeding to Minerva Reef.
At Marsden Cove Marina. Intentions fuel tomorrow and clear customs and depart for Minerva Sunday
Anchored in Urquarts Bay near Marsden Cove waiting for a weather window to Tonga
