Just started our wandering through the Ha'apai. Anchored off Kelefesia Island last night. We saw more whales yesterday coming up from Tongatapu than in our past 10 yrs of sailing. Probably off to Nomuka tomorrow.

Ah, Kelefesia! One of the prettiest anchorages in Tonga. Have fun. We took a dinghy tour all the way around the island and fished from the stern at anchor in the lagoon. Only caught some tiny little things, but it was fun to pretend we were busily engaged, dangling feet over the side, holding a fishing rod.

Glad to hear you’re at Minerva. Enjoy! Progress continues. Mintaka is now wearing her bowsprit and bow pulpit, and all ports, deck prisms, and deadlights are in place. Most interior trim is back on (after a good deal of searching for a few errant bits), and I may even be able to clear out tools and goo from the saloon and start bringing cushions back inside!

Gentle clear night with beautiful stars. We have had to turn back to NZ due to rudder linkage trouble. ETA 36-48 hours Marsden Cove Marina or Opua depending on situation at the time.

Kenn Batt, could you please advise about return weather. We plan to motor at 5 knts or sail the rhum line with very reduced sail plan.
