Arrived in Townsville yesterday. All well

all on schedule for afternoon arrival in Townsville

Rounding Cape Bowling Green. 48nm to Townsville. This will be our last post before arrival at Townsville.

Currently motoring 6.5kts heading 305T. Wind speed 4kts from the W. Clear skies. SE winds 10-15kts during the days and calm nights with variable winds from anywhere.

Wind picked up this morning around 4am. Currently sailing 5kts heading 300T. Wind speed about 15kts (gusting to 20-25kts) from the SE. 100% cloud cover and raining.

had a great meetimg with the Carnival Spirit as they wre on the line from Noumea to Sydney. Much oil was transferred. Engine has been running with no problem for 12 hrs but sails are going up now as windbuilds. Seas flat. Absolutely lovel

Currently motoring at 7 knots heading 280. Unbelievable story about getting the engine sorted. Got 40 liters from a passing cruise liner! Conditions went glassy yesterday around midday at 161 50E. Still have <5kts.

Had a fantastic sail yesterday and overnight. We still have NE winds reducing to now 10-12kts. Heading 270 at 6kts.

We are trying to push through this trough to get to clean air on the other side. There is plenty of rain and we are seeing lightening in the distance. If communications drop out after this message then it is most likely that we would have gotten struck. Otherwise the boat is going very well and we are comfortable in the conditions. We are heading 270 at about 5 knots on a broad-reach with staysail-only. You know things are rough when the sea-birds have started taking refuge on the back deck. We have a little flock riding along with us.

Rough night last night with lumpy seas and sustained 30-knots for a lot of the night, some rain and squalls. The wind is easing now to 20-25kts. We're making 5kts heading 300T.

dealing with the water in engine problem after the knock down in the rough sea conditions. Were heading to Cairns with eta 14May but with engine problems may decide on Noumea and will be looking at wx. The head winds next week would not make that easy

Preparing to leave Opua on Tuesday or Wednesday. We would like to check in with Gulf Harbour Radio when they start up on Friday the 1st of May.

A lot of motoring again in glassy conditions up to about mid-afternoon when we were able to get our full rig out and had a great afternoon of sailing in very calm and flat seas with 12kts. Making 6kts. Hopefully in Opua tomorrow afternoon.

Wind died at 6am this morning and been motoring in calm conditions all day.

Wind directly on the nose 15-20kts since 8pm last night. We have been slowly reaching westwards to set ourselves up for a southerly reach when the high passes below us. Very slow progress the past 24-hours.

Dak-a-dak-a-dak-a-dak-a-dak. Still motoring. Caught a mahi-mahi at sunrise. Water went completely glassy mid-morning. 150nm in 24 hours.

Beautiful day of mostly motor-sailing in mostly flat seas and <10kts of breeze. Been making 7kts average today motorsailing with all of our sails up.
