Motorsailed last night with very light following wind. The wind has backed enough to keep the sails filled with these gentle seas. We are about 32 nm NE of Norfolk Island. Very nice morning!

A bit bumpy going to windward but making good speed to the south. Hopefully smoother conditions by tomorrow, but all is well on board.
Ready to head out to New Zealand this morning.
Moved out to Ilot Maitre to prep for the NZ Passage. May head off later this morning or tomorrow.
In Isle of Pines for a couple of very nice days. Tomorrow probably to Bay de Prony.
We moved to Ilot Mato yesterday, another very pretty anchorage. Today to head to Isle of Pines. All is well on board.
We are anchored at Ilot Ua in the south lagoon, but with the wind shifting westerly and increasing we will move to more shelter this morning. All is well onboard.
We left Port Vila Friday and are now approaching New Caledonia. Light wind on the stern so we have been motor sailing since yesterday afternoon.Beautiful morning with calm seas and clear blue sky.
Sounds like a comfortable
sailed around from Havannah yesterday. Fine weather, warm clear water, all is good!
In Havannah Harbor having sailed down from Revoleau Bay on Monday. All is well here.
Sailed in 15-20 ESE yesterday to Lamen Bay on Epi. Peaceful anchorage with lots of turtles.
In Port Sandwich on S. Malekula with several other boats. Calm, hazy and quiet this morning. No ash!
Quiet and hazy in Banan Bay on S. Malekula having sailed from Lolton Bay on N. Pentecost yesterday. The Ambae volcano was still spewing tons of gritty ash and, after being dusted a couple more times, we decided that was enough. Hopefully, we are far enough to the SE to be out of the way now! A nice anchorage here.
We sailed to Lolton Bay on Pentecost from Marino Bay on Maewo yesterday. The plan had been to spend a week or so up in Maewo but the volcano on Ambae changed that plan. For the second time in 2 weeks we got covered in ash as the volcano erupted with ejection of great amounts high into the atmosphere. Upper level winds were from the west carrying the ash cloud to the east and surface winds from the southeast brought it back over us on north Maewo. We washed the boat yesterday morning but, with the ash still falling, decided to head south. So we got covered again on the way down but finally are out of the ash cloud here in Lolton. We will be cleaning ash from deck, hull and rigging for some time! The volcano was still shooting ash very high yesterday evening with deep booms but, so far, we are far enough south that it is not landing on us! All is well here.
Sailed down to Turtle Cove in Peterson Bay several days ago after a couple of weeks at Port Orly.
In Port Orly. We got a heavy dusting of ash from the volcano in Ambae yesterday. It is about 50-60nm SE of us but the wind was strong from the SE and blew a dense cloud of ash right to us. All morning on cleanup. The forecast looks good for us to head to Gaua on Wednesday. Hopefully the Ambae volcano won?t burp again before that!
We will hang here in Port Olry until the wind settles up in the Banks, probably Tuesday or Wednesday. Have a great time Patricia!!!
In Port Olry on Santo overcast again this morning but no rain. SE breeze although well protected in the anchorage. Waiting for the wind to settle off shore to sail up to the Banks Islands.
At Port Olry on Santo it has been overcast and with a strong S breeze although well protected in the anchorage. Maybe more sunshine today.
Anchored at Port Olry on Santo. Cool and overcast again this morning.
Anchored at Port Olry on Santo. Cool and overcast this morning.
Anchored at Port Olry on Santo. Another beautiful anchorage. Peter Weatherhill fixed the windlass yesterday. An experienced marine engineer and great person to know in Santo.
In Hog Harbor on Santo. Anchored in 15m but the windlass stopped working. Will be sorting that this AM with Peter Weatherhill who is based back near Oyster.
We may leave with the high tide today to sail up the Santo coast to Hog Harbor.
We are still anchored near the Turtle Bay Resort on Santo. Moving to Port Orly in a day or two. All is well here.
We are still anchored near the Turtle Bay Resort on Santo. All is well aboard.
We are now anchored near the Turtle Bay Resort on Santo. Oyster Island is still closed to yachts and the pass through the inner reef is not properly marked. Although there are 2 poles to mark the entrance to that pass it is narrow and there is no mark at the end where a turn to starboard is required. Without a good track or at least good waypoints it would be difficult. The new owners of Oyster are due to build a ?temporary? bridge to the mainland in October which will block the south entrance. This may be the last visit here for some time!
What a shame that Oyster is
We will be moving from the Beachfront anchorage this morning, probably up the coast to Aesi.
Still at Beachfront in Luganville, warm and humid with rain yesterday.
In Luganville at the Beachfront. SSB has a problem with the microphone jack. Sat phone has a balky cable connector. Things seem to happen in pairs! Otherwise all is well.
Showers last night at Aore. Had a pleasant sail on light winds from Vao yesterday.

Leaving Vao this morning to sail over to Luganville for some provisions.
Nice morning at Vao island in NE Malekula. We motored from Rano yesterday and will stay here until tomorrow then up to Luganville.
Motored and sailed to Rano Island off NE Malekula yesterday. Clear, calm anchorage. All is well aboard.
Calm clear morning at Port Sandwich. Rained yesterday, mostly heavy. Deciding whether to motor north or wait for some wind to sail with.
Heavy rain yesterday afternoon and last night. Overcast this morning. All is well on board.
Back in Port Sandwich, South Malekula for the next few days while waiting for wind to sail north. All is well aboard.
Anchored behind Awei island in the Maskelynes. Solid rain yesterday but flat and calm in the anchorage. All is well on board.
Calm in the anchorage. Moved to Gaspard Bay in S Malekula yesterday to see if the dugongs are still here and they are. All is well on board.
Hi Frank...finally got YIT up
Anchored at Port Sandwich after an easy sail over from Lamen Bay yesterday. Calm and quiet in this Anchorage. Had a nice swim with the turtles at Lamen also the coral there was in surprisingly good condition.

Anchored in Lamen Bay on Epi. Calm and clear with a full moon. Moving to Port Sandwich later this morning.
Anchored in Havannah Harbor but leaving for Epi shortly. All is well aboard.
Moored at Yachting World Marina in Port Vila, but leaving to sail around to Port Havannah this morning.
Safely moored at Yachting World Marina in Port Vila. Had a quick passage from Erromango yesterday and a great quiet sleep last night!
We are underway for Port Vila and should arrive late afternoon today. It would be helpful if the wind were to back to more easterly. All is well aboard.
We are still at at Dillon?s Bay on Erromango. Blue skies and warm water. Had a nice swim over to the reef from the boat yesterday. More swims today. Thinking of sailing to Efate at 0 dark 30 tomorrow AM to arrive at Port Vila in the late afternoon. All is well here.
We are at at Dillon?s Bay on Erromango with a calm anchorage. I made a typo yesterday about Will and Sheila restaurant. It is at the head of the bay which is the SW side (Not NW as I misstyped). Their restaurant hut is visible from the anchorage.
We will be leaving Port Resolution this morning and planning a stop at Dillon?s Bay on Erromango about 50nm NNW. We had an interesting tour to the volcanic vents that are on the NW side of the anchorage here. Willy and Sheila from the village there took us put the vents and some great views of the island and anchorage. They are getting a restaurant going to raise money to support the village there. They can use kitchen supplies and utensils. IF you stop here any help would be appreciated. Their tour is well worth trading some useful supplies or paying their 1000Vt fee.
We had a great visit to Mt Yasgur volcano yesterday evening. Yasgur was booming. Watching and feeling the explosions of lava from a couple of hundred meters away is a spectacle not to be forgotten! Then a wonderful meal prepared by Leah back at the Port Resolution village finished off a fine night. We are planning to walk around to the steam vent beside the anchorage today. Tomorrow to sail to Dillon?s Bay on Erromango island.
Showery with light wind. Hoping for some improvement to go up the Mt. Yasgur volcano this evening. All is well aboard.
All is well aboard. Safely tucked in to Port Resolution awaiting customs visit this AM. Showers last night but clearing now. Slight swell sneezing in to the anchorage so a bit rolly but warm and peaceful. Nice to have a full night?s sleep!
We left same day , cleared
